Weekend Wishes

Well it's been a busy week so once again I'm very happy to see the weekend rolling around again (I've been  trying to catch a glimpse of it since Wednesday!).  I must dash and get ready as we are off  on a long overdue dinner catch-up with friends.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Vincent & Josephine

They're the names we've been eager to know since Denmark's royal twins came along on January 8 this year.  Vincent Frederik Minik Alexandre and Josephine Sophia Ivalo Mathilda to be precise (mind you I have read a number of different spellings of the names over the last couple of hours so we'll wait and see).  Like their father and grandmother (Queen Margrethe) were christened at Holmen church yesterday evening our time.

Ada & Darcy Moroccan Pouffe Offer

I'm only a recent convert to the Moroccan Pouffe tidal wave but let me tell you I'm in for a pound!  Over the last few months they have REALLY grown on me.  Practical and pretty, perfect combination.

At the moment they are 25% off when you buy 2 or more (until this Sunday) at Ada & Darcy. Naturally I have wasted no time letting my fingers do the clicking and have bought two ($313.50 instead of $418, there's NO better time).

Thanks for the early birthday pressie Mr. B and YES, I really did want these more than a Tiffany's necklace (those were my options girls, he's a keeper!) and I promise not to get sick of them and sell them on eBay in 6 months time!

DC Design House

Finally the 2011 DC Design house is open for inspection!  For the last few years (4 to be exact) the DC design community has come together to raise money for the Children's National Medical Center as they showcase their individual styles in one big home.

In case you're like me and live o'er the sea from DC, here are some of the rooms.  Which one do you like the best?

Naturally I'm rather bitter that I can't walk through myself SO if you live in the area (Ilse!) go check it out and support a great cause at the same time :)  Tickets are $20 and the house is open until the 8th of May.  Address and directions here.  Do it, do it.

Book Review: Air Kisses

I just finished reading Air Kisses.  Written by Zoe Foster, a former Beauty and Lifestyle Editor for Cosmopolitan and Beauty Editor for Harper's BAZAAR, it's not a new release by any stretch (Aug, 2009) but certainly new to me. It was in the giveaway bag a few CATF (chicks at the flicks, keep up people hehe) sessions ago and have just gotten around to reading it.

In short - light and fairly fluffy (like all good chick lit) with some chuckle out loud moments.  It filled the spot, I loiked it.  Reminds me a little of the way Maggie Alderson (who I love) writes.

Zoe's new book Amazing Face comes out in June.

Mag Clean Out

Last week my computer was on a serious go-slow (remind me not to download 3 TV episodes from iTunes in the one week!)  making it frustratingly difficult to browse and post.  As I try to do one every few months, I used the time for a magazine cull (of course I keep my favourites) and tore out any pages my inspiration files couldn't live without.  So here are my tear-outs in all their licorice-all-sorts glory.

Boo cushion.

Inside Out

Pretty hydrangeas.

H&G Decorators Handbook

Catriona Rowntree's hen house is rather cute.

The Outdoor Room (Summer 2011)

I love this room.  Small and stylish and perfectly laid out for the space.

House & Garden

Fancy couch from Coco Republic.

Any day of the week I'm a silver over gold person but I really love this combination of wallpaper, desk and chairs.

Vogue Living BEFORE + AFTER 2011

I WANT these silver mosaic tiles in a bathroom.  If I wasn't brave enough to put them up the walls I would definitely put them on the floor.  Just love them, how very rock 'n' roll of me.

H&G Decorators Handbook

Two is too few, three is perfect.

H&G Decorators Handbook

Gelato dining chairs.

Children's wallpaper from ferm Living.

Inside/Out Magazine

From the same lovely home, a beautiful mirror...

Australian Woman's Weekly (March 2011)
...and nautical wallpaper.

PS you can buy that fabulously huge Maileg bunny from P&P here.

This may be the single best picture wall I have ever laid eyes on.  Yes.  I think it is.  And FYI look at the floor, someone seriously creative lives here.

The inspiration files are a-bulgin'.
