The May issue of AD has dropped and one of the features I'm enjoying is their shout out to the work of Robert A.M. Stern. They refer to him as a modern traditionalist and I like the style that implies.
Of all his featured properties I was most taken with a home on Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts.
Of course the one image was never going to be enough so set about hunting for more photos, and specifically, photos of the interior. I found them
here on his website and unsurprisingly, they don't disappoint.
Gorgeous covered porches over stone walls wrap around the house.
The pool area is sheltered from the wind and a pergola and screened porch offer shaded seating near the deck. And did I mention the view? No words.
The round library in the tower features a floor-to-ceiling beach stone chimney.
The library from the outside and the guest house to the east of the entry court compartments the style of the main house.
I couldn't find any pictures of the lower level of the house that has been specifically designed for entertaining - a bowling alley, games room, and a boat bar connected to the wine cellar by a "hall of fishes."
Dissatisfied much? To read more about this amazing home pop over
