Enzo Mari: La Mela

Along with the stencilled baskets and the I-want-it-checkered table, it was Enzo Mari's La Mela, (the apple in case you haven't already worked it out) print that really stood out in Hank Azaria's playroom the other day.

I was trying to recall where else I'd seen it when I remembered it was in the Bridgehampton kitchen of SJP as featured in Elle Decor a few years ago.

It seems she's not the only one who likes the print Enzo created in 1963 for Danese Milano.

How about you?  What do you think of it?

If you bought one here, where would you hang it at your place?

  1. You know, I gotta say that I just don't get it. It's an apple!! I mean I like it, but I don't understand the popularity!

  2. Ahhh but it's the BIG APPLE, and for all things NY you must love it! I think it would be in my study! For that's where I dream...

Thanks Nicole...how very SJP of you!

  4. I love it! I'd put it in my kitchen, with my new kitchen (one day!) that will have red accents.

  5. I think if I was a New Yorker I'd definitely put it up somewhere. I've been very drawn to more modern pieces of art lately so it does intrigue me...maybe mine should be a big salmon since I'm from Seattle (we do grow lots of apples here in Washington though).
    Fun post!

  7. Definitely fun in the kitchen,,,I would need to find a wall! Rats!

PS - Nicole, think your idea of the Susanna Salk book as your signature gift is brilliant. Books are the best present and I honestly love this one. What a great thing to receive and also means a lot coming from you with your gorgeous shop. Also, please keep up the great work with your Tuesday updates. I also remember those feelings of trying so hard to lose weight and then putting it on. Sent me to the pantry! You've done so well and it's just the way it rolls. Have a lovely weekend. Annie x.
